In 2024, more voters than ever in history, will be headed to the polls in 64 countries at least, plus the European Union (EU), representing a combined global population of about 49%. In an update to the UN Human Rights Council, Mr. , the current United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, described 2024 as a “mega election year”. According to these premises, we want to highlight the importance of youth’s action on key political issues, so we will be discussing about the major topic of youth political participation with some BUILDEU2 from Italy, Young European Ambassadors and other Young Advocates coming from different corners of the planet. The Panel, named: “Empowering Youth: the Crucial Role in shaping the Democratic Process” will be carried out in the framework of IYC9.
